  1. What makes Polident such a good denture cleanser? How does it work?
Polident is America's Number One denture cleanser. It works to clean dentures more thoroughly than brushing alone. The chemical and mechanical cleaning action works when powerful cleansing and antibacterial agents are released. Polident when used as directed, kills 99.9% of odor-causing bacteria while removing plaque and tough stains such as tea, coffee, blueberry and tobacco.

  2. What is the difference between brushing dentures and soaking dentures?
Brushing dentures with a toothbrush and toothpaste will remove plaque and food particles stuck to it through mechanical action. However, soaking dentures in a cleaning solution such as Polident kills the germs that can cause denture odor and provides effective removal of odor-causing food particles and plaque in cracks and crevices that may not be accessible with a toothbrush. Therefore, brushing and soaking dentures every day is more effective than brushing alone. Polident Kills the Bacteria Brushing Can Miss!TM

  3. Is Polident available in different forms, strengths or flavors?
Yes, Polident tablets are available in four different formulations to meet your different needs - 3 Minute, Overnight Whitening, Smokers and Partials. Choose the one that's right for you!

  4. How should Polident tablets be used?
Drop one Polident tablet into enough warm water to cover denture or partial. Soak in Polident effervescing solution according to package directions (for example, Polident 3 Minute cleans in a little as three minutes). After soaking, remove and rinse dentures with running water. For clean, minty fresh dentures, use Polident at least once a day. Your denture or partial may be safely soaked in Polident solution overnight. CAUTION: Keep tablets out of the reach of children. Do not place tablets in the mouth.

  5. Can any of the Polident tablets be used overnight?
Yes, it is safe to use any of the Polident formulas overnight. Dentists recommend that patients remove their denture at night. When not in your mouth, it is important to keep your denture in water so it doesn't dry out. Many people take advantage of the fact that their denture will be in water overnight and add a Polident tablet for a convenient way to help keep it clean, fresh and odor free.

  6. Can partials be soaked in Polident 3 Minute?
Yes, you can soak partials and orthodonic retainers in Polident 3 Minute denture cleanser. We recommend Polident Partials because it is specially designed to be less harsh on the metal portion of the partial or retainer.

  7. What is Polident Triple Mint?
It is the flavoring system used in all Polident tablet products and it contains spearmint, peppermint and menthol.

  8. Why should I use specialty denture toothpaste?
The highly polished surface of a new denture or partial can be scratched by ordinary toothpastes allowing bacteria and food particles to adhere to the scratched surface. Polident Dentu-Crème and Polident Dentu-Gel are specially formulated denture cleansing toothpastes with gentle cleaning agents that safely leave dentures fresh and minty while they kill germs that cause denture odor. Polident Dentu-Crème and Polident Dentu-Gel are formulated to clean and freshen full or partial dentures outside of the mouth.
